Brittle nails

Twenty percent of the population suffers from brittle nails. Although experts do not know exactly what causes our nails to weaken, they argue that the likely culprits are laundry detergents and removing nail polish. Other factors include cold, dry weather and frequent washing of hands.
Fortunately, physical means of brittle nails is one of the most abundant element on earth: silicon. As a major nutrient in our bodies promote a dve important substances, connective tissue, collagen, which gives our skin, hair and nail strength and flexibility, and glycosaminoglycans, which hydrate the tissue.
If you want to add more silicon in your diet, bet on whole grains, soybeans, and leafy vegetables. Not just for your nails. Slightly more silicon also strengthens bones and may reduce wrinkles by improving skin elasticity.
If the nails are still brittle, visit your doctor. This symptom may be due to deficiencies of zinc, iron, calcium and protein and more serious diseases such as thyroid problems or lung disease.
